Heya I'm Simon Phillips a Photographer based in Perth Western Australia. Photography for me isn't just a means of taking a photo, it is a way of life and a lifestyle, it honestly never gets old for me as I like to keep mixing it up with what I do. I mainly photograph landscapes but I do also like architecture as well, if you look through my instagram account @simonphillipsphoto you'll see I don't really have a theme with my work and that's the way I like to work honestly. 

I really enjoy my monochrome photography, it is just nice to be able to convey the scene without colour leading you in but using different shades of grey instead. 

I have had a strong passion for photography since an early age of 4 when I got my first camera, almost three decades on. I still have the same passion for it, I use a mixture of cameras, be it on a drone, or digital or film both medium format and 35mm. For me the story of an image goes deeper than just the photo itself it is also about what journey was involved to get there. Using different mediums also keeps me thinking and working on my vision and technical process as a fine art photographer. 

I really love my minimalist work that I do, there's something about having less in a scene that has more to offer. That age old saying "less is more" that rings true.
